Larry started his career in British Columbia's forest industry in 1979 and is well grounded in the operational aspects of forest management as well as in environment, compliance, and sustainability issues. He has written a number of papers on resource use and presented at many conferences and workshops. He is also a skilled facilitator and has acted in a facilitative leadership role in cross cultural settings with multi-sectoral stakeholders. Larry's experience includes work in Canada, West Africa, East Africa, and Russia. His recent focus has been on strategic fire management planning, ecosystem restoration, carbon analysis, compliance audits, and using unmanned aerial vehicles to provide detailed inventory and terrain data needed for forest operations such as timber development and silviculture.

Shane has both a technical diploma and university degree in forest management to augment his operational experience in the forest sector. His operational background includes timber harvesting layout, a season operating logging equipment, four summers fighting forest fires, over 50 hours of flight experience with UAVs, and two years of post graduate experience in the consulting sector. This practical experience combined with his academic and technical training, leaves him well prepared to take on many challenging forest management projects.
